Spray and hope you hit your target, not real good on accuracy in my opinion

It will eat anything, but good luck hitting a cow in the butt with the muzzle stuck up it's arse.

Anyone own a recent model mini-30? I am a bolt action guy, but have the bug to buy a semi-auto rifle. Please tell me about your mini-30 and its accuracy and any problems such as feeding and chambering, availability of decent after market magazines, anything of concern, etc. Thanks.

The new Mini is more accurate than the older versions, they have a shorter and heavier barrel. You'll get probably 3" at 100 yds with iron sights, older Minis were probably 4" to 5" and wandered a bit. Get good magazines, the 7.62X39 can be a pain to feed properly out of some guns. I don't know if Ruger or CProducts make mags for the 7.62, but theirs have always worked well for me.

Consider the Mini a modern GI M1 Carbine and you'll be fine.

I just purchased a mini-14 target model with a target barrel [22"]in .223 and it is shooting 1" 100yd. groups. I love it and will get better with it as I work up some loads and break it in. The mini ranch rife in .223 will shoot as good as the AK 47 any day and no one ever complains about not being able to hit the big red barn with it.
