1927 Smith and Wesson 32 Auto CTG pistol value
Question on opinions of value of this old pistol....

It was my great uncle's, he used it as part of his security guard duties in the late 20's-early 30's. In researching it online, I find that they only made 957 of this model from 1924-1927, and this is near the end of the run (serial #842). I found a closed gun auction with a $2500 asking price (no bids) and a Texas gun seller with a $3500 asking price for a near mint one in the origial shipping box. This is an obviously used (but not abused) gun, it also has the original shipping box, and 2 original magazines. I shot it for the first time in 20-25 years this past weekend, and everything is still working fine on it. Not sure if I'm looking to sell or keep it, but wanting at least an idea of value/collectability. Thanks for any info.

I would hold on to it until things turn around, economy wise. My WAG is that it would be a $800 to $1200 item, if factory original. Your photos aren't the best, so it's hard get a absolute handle on the originality of the finish. 0 -
Your gun is the type two. In the condition shown in the pictures, the value is $1000-1400. 0
