Walther Manurhin PP, LPN and Nds marked

I have a Mauurhin PP .32 with Nds in a box on the right side of the slide and LPN with the serial number, which is 30,xxx. Can anybody tell me what these marks mean?

  There German police markings from the State of Lower Saxony.
  
  "LPN" = Landes Polizei Niedersachsen
  
  "Nds" was a earlier version of the same organization.
