22 Mag 30 grain ballistic tip

My Remington 597 rifle and Excell Accelerator pistol both work fine with 40 grain loads but often fail to cycle with the 30 grain bullets.Wolff doesn't have springs for either gun.I haven't been able to contact Excell.I'll try Remington.Can anyone help me with this? Thanks,Tom

  I have the same problem with my Automag, the semi auto 22mags just seem to need to heavier bullets to cycle the action properly.
  My Excel also gave me some problems at first using the 30 grain stuff. Remingtons did work pretty well though.
  After I got about 5 or 600 rounds through it, it has really become more forgiving about cycling the lighter grain bullets. I have really had no issues shooting the 30 grain stuff since.
  My best luck is still with Remington. Winchester, and Federals works well also.
  Haven't tried any CCI , or Hornady yet.
