It was received in the warehouse 6-10-1886. If you can find the Malcolm scope, it should work just fine on that rifle (though a 32" scope would look nicer). I will have to get back to you on the loads.

Forgot to add... I will get you a Cody research sheet for that rifle if you want one.

I think so too, but the existing mounts are set too close together, and the only other option is using the front and rear sight dovetails.

That is what you are supposed to use with the full length Malcolm scope.

    A question for Bert:
I see a lot of answers about Winchester model 1885 so thought I'd try and ask a couple of you...

I have a model 1885 (factory date 1888), .32 rim fire - the front site is missing, the mounting groove is there but no blade/post. Any idea where I can locate one? Or, have one made? It's in excellent condition aside from the front site.

Also, anyplace I might be able to find ammo? I have about 200 rounds (had 220 last week but went to the range - OMG this thing is accurate even without a front site!).

    Appreciate any help.

    Thx,

    -L

I have a 32 rimfire Stevens Favorite, the best source of ammo I've found is Old West Scrounger. It is spendy though.

Can you post or send me a picture of what is left of your front sight? It sounds like it might be a Rocky Mountain sight.

Finding 32 Rimfire ammo is problematic at best. Every once in awhile someone orders a batch of it from Brazil. Is your rifle a 32 SHORT or a 32 LONG?

Hi Bert - Thx for replying.

I have photo's of the front site mount unfortunately I can't seem to be able to post them here...

Is there an email address I can send to? If not I can figure out another way to get them posted (cragslst, ebay or some other forum).

    Thx,

    Lloyd
