Nickle Plating Scratches
Will a quality nickle plating on newer S&W scratch when buffed with a clean cotton rag? I've had that experience with stainless S&W's and wonder if a nickle gun would be more suceptible to scratching. Thanks.

Cotton won't scratch stainless or nickel. There must have been something abrasive on the gun. Either finish will scratch if you try hard enough. 0 -
SS for the most part is softer surface finish then Nickle however you can touch up polish a finish if it is a solid material without a coating/plating In other words a Blued Steel gun can be spot /touchup polished but then you will expose bare metal . A SS gun can be spot polished to match the rest of the gun and if you try to polish NICKLE plating you may be successful [:)][^]or you may polish through[:(][:(!][:I] the plating 0
