1894 winchester? Bert H?
i recently took in trade a model 1894 winchester chambered in 32 WIN SPL. serial number 1,686,XXX. i think it could have been manufactured in 1949. i dont have any pics available so i will do my best to describe it. its blued finish is original due to its clearly defined cartouches on top of the barrel and receiver. in my opinion, its blued finish is about 60% to 70%. the stocks are in one piece, no splitting or cracks but have been refinished due to a very slight space between the buttstock and receiver. Bert, your expert opinion on age and ballpark value is appreciated. thankyou sir!

Hello Garth,
The complete serial number would help me in my survey. That said, serial 1686000 was made sometime in the March - April timeframe of 1950. Winchester did not make the change from the "32 W.S." caliber marking to the "32 WIN. SPL." marking until late February of 1950.
If the stocks have been refinished, and the bluing is 60%, you are looking at a $400 gun.0
