I wouldn waste my cast on a 200.00 NVscope, and i aint saying that because I am a NV snob either.. I would look at something from ATN in the 350-400 range. Or just by a real bright flashlight, and mount it onto your AR. Or buy the ATN, and a real bright flashlight that has an IR filter as an accessory..

Treat the ATN like a baby, it will break all to hell and gone if you drop it. Dont get it wet. even when you are zeroing it, be careful with the knobs, dont ratchet them hard.

Sportsmans guide has a big 300 or 500 lumen weapons light with mounting hardware that should allow you to spot anything inside 300 yards for less then 100 dollars.

"What a country dot com" has IR filters, im pretty sure Sprtsmnsgide dont offer a IR filter for their lights. what I'm getting at is, you might have to improvise with a filter if you get a SMG or other cheap light to go with a night vision scope to act as an IR illuminator.[;)]

Before you drop hundreds on NV gear, try shooting with a red lens equipped spotlight. They work well for coyotes.
