will a remington 660 barrel fit a 700 or 788 reciever without to much trouble??

  The Remington 600/660 barrel tenon is the standard 1.062" x 16 TPI threads as the Remington 700. The Remington 788 uses 1" x 20 TPI thread tenon which is also longer than the M700/600/660 tenon.
  
  So, 600/660 barrels and M700 barrels are interchangeable but will not be headspaced or be perfectly timed unless you get a gunsmith to do the timing and headspace.
