Head stamp help?

Markings are 10 at 12:00 * at 3:00 and 9:00 762x 51 at 6:00. Any body ? thanks

  falfiles.com has a nice headstamp ID section... is the nato cross on it?

  At 3:00 and 9:00 are astericks. No NATO cross..10 is at 12:00 and 762x51 at 6:00. I can't do a pic right now as I don't have any of the stuff with me.

  I can find two '10' headstamped cartridges.
  Russian state arsenal: (ceased/closed doors in 1946-too early for your cartridge)
  
  Bulgarian Arsenal: Production marked with a '10' headstamp indicates manufactury after 1946.
  
  So, by elimination.....Bulgarian?? Best I could do. Joe

  Hello Brier-49,
  
  What you have is a Russian 7.62x51mm which was reloaded by an unknown state arsenal for commercial distribution. The arsenal is now reported to be closed.
  
  Below is your headstamp.
  
  
  
  As a note of interest, Lake City arsenal used to load 7.62x39mm as well.
