WIn M-70 magazine

are there seperate magazines for Rem 7MM mag and 300 H&H, or are these close enough in length that only the follower need changed ?

    my wag would be yes based on a recent article i read that stated the 300 H&H was developed to compete with the 300 win mag, or vice-a-versa, which has a shorter action than the 375's, and 338's. i'm 99% sure that 7mm mag and 300 win mag have the same lenght magazine well so it would be logical to think that the 300 H&H is also the same or really close. i'm sure someone with the spec's will step in and guide us in the proper direction.

    The .300 H&H cartridge is longer than the 7mm Mag or .300 Win. Mag. cartridges. Loaded length for the H&H cartridges is 3.600" while the standard mags are 3.340".

    The magazine boxes are either different because of the difference in cartridge lengths or the same box is used with a spacer for the shorter 7mm Mag. cartridge.

    I knew the difference in length was somewhere around .260 to .310 for the H&H vs the 7 mag, just curious because I found a new left hand M70 in 7 mag and want to rebarrel to a H&H and wanted to know if I was going to be able to use the magazine or have to procure a new one.

    You will have to get a new magazine box and follower. Neither are too expensive.
