  I'm looking at a Colt 1911A1 tomorrow that was purchased right after WW11. It is supposed to be chromed.Was this a option during this period? What would be the serial number range ?

  This was a transitional model made just before the Series 70 came into being. Depending on condition it may Bring more $$ then a standard pre series 70
