H&R .410

I just got a H&R Partner .410 and wanted to know what other barrels could i use with this gun. any help would be apreciated

    Depending on the date of manufacture, your gun could have been made by one of 3 different H&R companies. Modern barrels for the H&R Handi Rifle are not interchangeable with the older versions of the Topper Rifle. I'm not sure of the interchangeability between the Topper and the Pardner, H&R also manufactured a Model 158 and a Model 058 which were combination offerings of one receiver and several different barrels in both shotgun and rifle calibers. These barrels are all low pressure and the receiver CANNOT take a modern high pressure rifle barrel, in fact the modern Handi Rifles have two different receivers, SB1 and SB2, with one handling only shotguns and low pressure rifle rounds, the other being unlimited.

    That being said, the Model 158 and Model 058 Topper had options of barrels in 30-30, 20 gage, 16 gage, 12 gage, .410, .22 Rem Jet and .22 Hornet. May have also been able to get a .357 Magnum.

    Again, there was a lot of variation between the different years and company's, each barrel was supposedly "fitted" by the factory and since the factory will not work on the older guns now, you will be on your own. A particular barrel might fit, it might fit with a minimal amount of fitting, or it might be totally incompatible.

    It's a bit of crap shoot, you see.
