380 auto or 9MM for small hand female
Looking for a 9MM or 380 auto with a small grip for a small handed female. I let her shoot my 380 auto Beretta 84 and my 9MM S&W 639...she said neither felt right...to big in the hand...anyone know how of a 380 auto or 9MM with a smaller grip?

Bersa 380 is small enough for my 9 year old daughter to shoot... May also want to look at the Makarov pistols. 0 -

Remington model 51 grip is less then one inch thick but still has best pointing of any 380 also locked breach system instead of straight Blowback like 90 % of the 380 made of course you will most likely have to look at an auction site like gunbroker [:)] or a large gun show. 0 -
My girlfriend does very well with the Sig P225. The Walther PPK is very thin for a .380 My 2 cents 0 -

The really small 9mm luger guns (eg Kel-Tec PF1, Kahr, Walther PPS) tend to pack a LOT of recoil.
The problem with .380s right now is that ammo is scarce and expensive.
Rather than second-guess which gun might fit your wifes hand, you'd be better off having her lay her hand on a variety of guns and figure out which one(s) she likes best.0 -
While she is gun shopping, be sure to check that she has the strength to rack the slide. Some of the small autos have a erally stiff action spring- and while smaller people can LEARN how to rack the slide, it is difficult for them. 0 -
The Kahr autos have slim grips and short trigger reach.
And a recoil operated 9mm P has less felt recoil than a blowback .380.
Racking the slide can be managed with proper technique and a positive attitude.

Perhaps you should go smaller in caliber. A .32 auto? A Makarov is a big .380 and bigger than a Walther. It's a subjective thing.....so let her choose what is "just right." Remember little hits count for more than big misses.[;)] 0 -
Get her a Kel-Tec 3PAT. Perfect carry gun! 0
