small and light for concealled carry

JFAHEY
Other than the new Ruger LCP, what are some other alternatives for a good quality firearm that's ultra compact and very light. I have a little Cobra .32 now, but I'm not too fond of it. I'd kinda like something in .380, 9mm, or .40 Any advice or ideas are greatly appreciated.

    Well i do not recommend the LCP or Kahr P380 or keltec P3AT or other sub 10 oz pistols to most people as a stand alone PDP, usually...

    They are small guns, And accuracy at ranges over 10 or 15 yards is hard to attain for most people... Out of the ones on the market I would choose a Kahr with night sights.

    Stepping up in size, I would recommend you look at a double stack .380 like the CZ83, beretta 84, or PT-58.. They are designed for the .380acp round and are compact, solid, and accurate while muzzle blast and recoil is less then a subcompact service pistol like the ones below.

    Sizeing up from the double stack .380ACPs, is something like a 3" 1911, Kahr PM, glock 26, springfield XD, smith and Wesson M&Pc and so on. I am not a big fan of chopped down survice pistols because they where not originally designed to have a 3.5 inch barrel. The one exception that I know of is the Kahr line of compact pistols.

    Check out the Kahr line of 9mm. and 40's. Even the 45's they have.

    Take a look at the Kahr's. While not my personal choice (I prefer the good old S&W 37 Airweight), I think that the Kahr will serve you well and meet your requirements

    On a semi I think the PM9 is great, I have the Mk9 version - don't care for poly. In a revolver you really can't beat a nice Smith 37 or Model 38 or 442 - any airweight J frame Smith is fine, the hammerless or "sort of" hammerless Model 38 is excellent.

    For light concealed carry my current choice is a Walther PPKS .380. Most guys see it as "too light" I agree, but it is fun to shoot, and does offer some worth when using the right ammunition. Just an opinion. Good luck with whatever you choose.[:)]

    A LCP on your person beats a bigger gun left at home. LCP and the Keltec 380 both have great reviews from users.
