A-5 barrel question
Hello, I have a Browning, A-5, 12 guage, 2 3/4" chamber, 1966 round knob that I am trying to find a slug barrel for. I was looking for a Hastings, rifled barrel, but no one seems to have any. Question...will a Japanese A-5 slug barrel in 2 3/4" chamber fit this old gun? Is a rifled barrel that much better (more accurate etc) than a smooth bore? Your input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Jap barrel should fit fine. Have one with vent rib on my Belgin made Light 20 and works fine. Rifled barrel should definately be more accurate. Had an original Browning smooth bore slug barrel on my 12 guage A5 years ago. I could not tell a lot of difference in the group size at 50 and 75 yards. It was easier to aim though. Never had a Hastings barrel but they are supposed to be very high quality and accurate. 0 -
The Japanese barrel will work fine with your Belgian receiver.
There's a Hastings barrel for sale on the auction side at:

Or you can try this web site:
