Hi Standard 22 Revolver
Can anyone please help me with the value of a Hi Standard 22 Revolver? I bought two of them around 1956 or so, brand new. One is R-101-with a 6" barrel, serial #1096744. Only difference between the two guns is when you pull out the rod and the cylinder swings out. One gun has a different rod. The 2nd gun is a R-101-with a 3" barrel, serial #647319. Guns are at least 95%+ original. I don't think I shot over 3 boxes of shells in either one. I am looking for their value. Thanks very much.

Had one I sold a while back. There descent quality plinkers, just not big buck collectors items. They would be in the $150-$250 range per revolver. Nowadays with the economy in the toilet, it's strictly a buyers market. It would be best to hold on to them, till things turn around, IMHO. 0 -
Any HS automatic dating the same as your pistols and in the condition you describe would have instant collector interest, but as the Snowman mentioned, this is not the case with the revolvers. These are basic good quality revolvers built to a price point and don't have any real stand out features, but they were cheaper than a Colt or S&W and better then an H&R so that was all that was required of them in the retail market. Unless you also have the boxes and papers I don't see either of these selling for much more than $175 or maybe $200 to the right buyer. 0 -
Not sure how much if any the market has fel off, but .22 pistols were a HOT item around last election time. Even the Heritage .22 SA's took about a $100. jump in price.
The HS Sentinal's are acquiring some collector interest as well. I recall 10 years ago, you could buy a nice one for $90. or so. Not anymore. Even the really UGLY ones are bringing over $100. here on GB. And I haven't seen one at a gunshow in ages.
