teaching shotgun sports

I enjoy teaching and bringing new shooters into the sport, but a lot of times they don't own a gun, and I really dont have one of my own to lend. What do you think of this as a loaner starter?

Either something gas operated to reduce recoil, or a 20 gauge using low recoil loads (Kemen make some that are amazing low recoil)

FWIW the last 3 shooters I started on clays I start 'em at station #7 on a skeet range and only throw low house birds. Then on to #6, again w/ low house. Then back to 7 for high house, then 6 for high house. Then shoot a "real" round - no doubles, just singles all the way around.

For starting on trap, the low house on #6 adn #7 routine, tehn move to the trap field.

Yes I do that also, especially on a day when we have the range to our self. One rule I use is you have to break 5 in a row or we go back to #7 low house and start over. After a few days and if the range is clear or we have a class going we start them off standing behind the trap house and we all move back together
