Taurus .38spl model 817

I am considering buying the model 817 Taurus. It is an ultra-lite 2" brl. that holds 7 shots. Anyone here have one of these or have shot them. If so, what is your opinion of this wheel gun?

  Not a bad gun for the money but if it ever needs repair, it will take a few months to get it back from the factory.

  Thanks for your answers. I have heard their customer service was terrible. I hope I would never need to contact them. Has no one shot one of these pistols before?

  I have shot them, the ribber grips help to reduce recoil and give you a firm grip on the revolver. Double action is not so great, single action is good, its not a S&W, but then you are not paying S&W prices. Its a decent gun for self defense.
