    Short answer is no. There are no adjustment screws in this trigger assembly however, a knowledgeable gunsmith can do wonders with it.

    The 788 is a real accurate piece with a good trigger . It would be a good investment . Any competent gunsmith can make it right .

    timney makes an excellent trigger for the 788. it is easily adjustable and simple to install. got mine from brownells

    I am with Robert on this one...want to fix a Rem 788 trigger get a timney trigger, I have one in my 223 Rem 788...really improved the trigger pull...cut the weight in half...improved accuracy.

    The 788 isn't adjustable in the same way the 700 is adjustable, but you can switch out the trigger return spring & improve it quite a bit. Brownells (or Midway, can't quite recall) sells a drop in spring that's a touch softer. All you have to do is remove the trigger unit, remove the old & drop in the new. Pretty straightforward, costs about $5.00.

    I polished the sear and trigger surface just a touch, you may want to skip that unless you know very well what you're doing. Some parts for the 788 are very difficult to find and I think the sear is one of them.
