Don't think so. I've heard from a few that the newer stoegers aren't as good as the older ones.

I'd look at the Mossberg Silver Reserve, and Fausti.

I checked out the Stoegers at Dick's and the quality was very poor in my opinion for the money.

Spend a few dollars more and get a used Ruger. You will be glad you did.

Save your nickels up for a nicer shotgun. You will be much happier! Like mentioned above, a Ruger Red Label. Or in my opinion, better yet a nice Browning Citori or older Beretta BL-4. However, if money becomes available there is nothing quite like a Browning Superposed! Good luck!

Went hunting last week with 2 friends. One had a new Storger 20ga & the other had a new Stevens 20ga. Mid week the stoeger broke the reciever whene he fired it. Broke at the base of the breach on both sides. The steven looks like a desent gun for the money. I have a Baikal 20ga that I hunt with that seams indestructable but its kind of crude. I also have Ruger red label. Realy is no comparison on quality. I have a Browning Citori in 410 that's even better yet. Long story shot- save your money for the better quality gun. Lessons learned over many years of gun buying.

If you would consider a SXS, check out the CZ ringneck. It is a SXS 20 ga. and carries a resonable price.

I have been very happy with my Remington Spartan / Biakal. You can find them on the auction side pretty reasonable.
I was not crazy about it when I first got it. (Present From My Wife and Son.) But I have not had any trouble with it.
Alot of great info on inexpensive O/U shotguns here.http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=83

    Cheers, Fish
