EL Paso Weaver
On another web site someone referred to "a El Paso Weaver" scope. Never heard the term before. I had a older Weaver K-4 overhauled in El Paso by Frank who just retired but the above term does not ring a bell. Can someone explain?

El Paso Weaver scopes are the older steel tubed Weavers made from (I'm guessing a bit) the 30s to about 1965 or so when steel tubes were replace with aluminium. The older Weavers are good scopes and some folks mount them on older rifles to have a period correct set up. I have a dozen or so rifles set up this way, makes the gun look right.
Weaver also made house brands such as Sears and JC Higgins. Same scopes, different branding.0 -
