It depends upon where you live, & where the buyer lives. Some states/localities restrict the possession of body armor.
OTH, it is stolen US property, & readily identified as such. The FBI has been known to investigate the theft of US property....

Who made the vest? Point Blank?
Some pics would let us know for sure.

I know Ceradyne made the plates.
I doubt they made the vest, that is why I am asking.

Ceradyne ESAPI level IV APM2 ceramic plates, size medium.
1 front, 1 back and 2 side plates along with a level 3a vest that they fit into.
Here is a link to the Ceradyne website, I do not see these plates for sale on their site or anywhere else on the internet, that is why I posted this question here before I did anything.

I am going with Ceradyne............
EDIT:
Got ya, I just assumed that they made the whole thing.0 -

Give US a break. You gave us partial information, so it should be no surprise that we made some assumptions. But, you DID get your answer:

There are some websites that restrict the posting of certain items; whether their rules are based on comment sense, fear of litigation, or loathing for the US Constitution is not for me to say, but there is no Federal restriction on possession or sale of body armor.

List it here.
It will sell for a good price if it has the sideplates.

I didnt think it was ok to post stuff for sale on the forum?
or do you mean on gunbroker.com ?0 -
Yes, GB.com. 0 -
How much would this gear be worth?
I have been told that the front and back plates cost $600 each new and that the side plates cost $300 each new
The level 3a vest I have was made by ABA, I took the vest alone without the plates to a gun shop about 6 months ago and the guy said it would cost him between $1200 and $1500 to buy it new from his dealer and that he would sell it for $2200 - $2750 at his shop.
He said that he would be interested in buying it and was interested in the plates too but at the time I was still hoping to hear from my room mate and give his stuff back so I did not sell it to the guy.
If I did post it on GB what should I put as a price?
I would be more interested in trading this gear for an assault rifle, preferably chambered for the 7.62X51 Nato.
what do you guys think ?
thanks for any info that gets posted0 -
Start it at $1.00 and don't use a reserve.
I think you will get $600- $900.
What is the expiration date on the vest?
CP0 -
I did not see an exp date, does that mean that the armor will degrade over time? or do you mean a manufacture date?
Did you mean that you think I will get between $600 - $900 for just the vest or did you mean with the plates and vest together?
I will look for a date when I get off work and let you guys know and I will take some photos of everything.0
