  Depends on what version, what options? $1200 is pretty good for a stripped down one, from what I've seen and I've been looking at them for a while....
  
  the best I have found for the classic with Diopter and Red Dot is around $1500..

  I got the 556 Halo model NIB for $1,200 and I love it. I have seen them used for $1,000. Very nice rifles and easy to clean. If it comes with the red dots they are worth about $150.

  YUP!! You usually find them for a couple hundred more. Much better design than the AR-15.

  I was in Cabelas two days ago and they had the basic one for $1200 also.
