M1 Op-Rod Help Please

Hello, I was hoping someone can answer a question for me please.
I have an M1 Op Rod D35382 6 SA and the piston measures .5245" (on a micrometer) not between .525" and .526" like I have researched.

My question is will this affect its performance, if so how and why?

    A half thousandth below minimum shouldn't be an issue if the gas cylinder bore gages properly and the barrel, under the gas cylinder, gages within spec.
    If it functions reliably don't worry until it stops working.
    A plating shop should be able to plate the piston up to size.

    Function fire it. If the bolt/operating rod is cycling fully to the rear, the [gas piston/chamber] is doing it's job. If you have been having problems, please post in detail exactly what is happening. Best, Joe

    I had one with .001" undersize and it would eject the spent case but not pick up the next round from the clip(called short stroking) got a op rod with a larger piston and it works great.
