CZ-50/70 versus CZ-70

I need help from a CZ expert,The blue book of gun values( page 451) describes the CZ 50/70 as 32ACP 8 shot double action etc.and at 95% value is 110.00 while the CZ-70 is described as 7.65/32ACP double action 8 shot.They look identical(to me) except the 95% value of the CZ-70 is 300.00.Can one of you knowledgeable members explain the difference to me? Thanks in advance. Dave

    The CZ 50 had a number of reliability issues and was not a successful design, although the Czech police used it for years. The CZ 70, which looks very much like the CZ 50, was intended to correct the shortcomings of the earlier pistols. There appear to have been very few commercial CZ 70s produced. Unlike the CZ 50 and CZ 52 pistols, which the Czechs were happy to unload on the US surplus market, not many of the Czech military and police CZ 70 pistols were ever imported so the prices are much higher for the CZ 70.

    Maybe it's a local thing but I've seen far more 70s than 50s in Ohio. For years they were a dreg at the shows, going for well under $100 each. Even still, you can pick one up for under $200 if you see it, but I don't see many of either of late.

    I too would like to know the shortcomigns of the 50.

    They aren't to friendly to dry fire training either. I don't know what the deal is, but my CZ 70 came with a broken firing pin, and then when I replaced it, it broke again from dry firing.
