choate extension on winchester

OK, it's my first post, but I have been reading for years. My problem is this:
Have a Win 1200 and am installing a choate extension. The extension is threaded right but it bottoms out before seating on barrel lug.
Anyone else experience this problem?

    Most likely it is the wrong extension for the gun. The 25 yr old extension I've got is not marked other than the plain box having Winchester 1200 12 Ga 10 Shot stamped on the end and 2 sides. Be pretty easy to have had a mixup somewhere.

    Thanks. Called Choate and they said send it back and they will check it. maybe someone else makes a better one?

    Unless they changed something, I don't see how it could be any better than what they made. Mine has seen a lot of service.I can load up the gun and get the limit of squirrel without taking any extra ammo, darn guns heavy fully loaded tho. Only reason it's not on the gun now is I removed the 30" full choke barrel and put a short vent rib barrel on for slug use. While the extension would fit it would stick out past the barrel.
