who is the maker of shotguns listed as american arms derby,thanks

  American Arms Company of Boston, Mass from 1873 to 1893 and Milwaykee, Wis from 1893 until purchased by Marlin Firearms Company in 1901, manufactured shotguns and two shot Wheeler patent derringers.
  
  Don't know if there is a connection with "Derby", I have no references to that although it might have been a place name rather than part of the manufacturers title.

  Call Tri-Star in KCMO. They are the importers.

  American Arms was a U.S. importer/distributor located in K.C.. They have been out of business since the 90's. Most of their shotguns were imported from Italy and Spain.
  
  If you could post quality photos of your shotgun and it's markings, it's country of origin can be determined. One of our folks might be also able to identify the maker.
  
  There are instructions for posting photos on a "sticky" at the top of this forum.
