Trading Someone A Pistol. A few questions.
Ok, is it legal to trade someone a pistol for other goods? We would both sign receipts acknowledging the transaction. Is this enough?
Also, I would have to drive to meet this person. I dont have a carry permit for this gun, if it is unloaded in my trunk, is that legal? Or what more do I need to do?

Different States have different rules. Some Cities do not allow handguns so it depends. 0 -
In this case it would be Minnesota. 0 -
Check with your local ffl dealer. 0 -
Not legal in MN.
A transferee permit signed by his police chief is required for handguns & so-called assault weapons in your state.
What you want to do is ask him to make arrangements with his local dealer to handle the transfer, & meet him there. You will transfer the pistol to the dealer, & the dealer will do whatever is necessary to transfer the pistol to him once approval is given. The documentation you will retain is a photocopy of the dealer's license, or a printout from ATF EZ-Check.

It is legal to transport an unloaded firearm in the trunk of your car. This applies to most states (except the ones that don't trust their residents!) 0 -
In tn, I can buy from any individual. I general don't sell though, so pistols coming my way are going into a black hole from which they will never arise.
