NYCJUAN,
It is a shame that you have to jump through so many hoops & watch your step all of the time, just to exercise your rights.[V][:(!][V][:(!]
Have you tried looking for the magazines for the original, RUSSIAN version, the TOZ-78? Here is one of those rifles:

EDIT: Here is what the 2008 WINCHESTER parts catalog, page 65, part #25, says:
http://media.winchesterguns.com/pdf/parts/2008_winchester_parts_pricelist.pdf
"25 ** U2500048 MAGAZINE ASSY 10 ROUND $30.00
25 ** U2500049 MAGAZINE ASSY 5 ROUND $30.00
**Factory installation only - Return firearm for installation."
So, I guess you were not lied to. I find it strange that a mass-produced magazine would need factory fitting to properly work in a mass-produced rifle. At $30.00 a pop, Winchester ought to pay for shipping both ways.[;)]0 -
I wonder what happened to the 10 round magazines that came with your rifle? If they are custom fit, they wouldn't fit in any other rifle. 0 -

If the dealer has 'em still ask him to put a permament block in 'em to hold only 50 -
just recently had a wild cat in my hand.. it felt pretty good 0 -
forget that dude, centerfiresystems has the mags you want for like 10 bucks each... you may need to fit them but all you have to do is file a litle plastic off of the front of the mag where the factory filled a little... you will see where... or you may get lucky and they just drop in... if you have any questions shoot me a message.

cccp15,
Thanks for that information. Here they are:
http://www.centerfiresystems.com/winchesterwildcat.aspx
http://www.centerfiresystems.com/MAG-TULATOZ01.aspx
5-round magazine:
Price: $9.99
Part Number: MAG-TULA TOZ 01
...except, they are:
"This item is Out of Stock and is NOT available for backorders."
...but, the 10-round magazine is in stock:
http://www.centerfiresystems.com/MAG-TULATOZ02.aspx
Price: $14.99
Part Number: MAG-TULA TOZ 02
It appears that there has been a run on the 5-round magazines. Still, NYCJuan, I would call Centerfire Systems, and ask them if they have any in stock:
