Remington moel 7
Anyone know how to change the front sight bead section on the model seven? Can't see the white bead and want to change to the light gathering bead. Looks like it is swedged on. Do I need to knock it left to right or what? Hate to just start banging on it. Your help would be appreciated. Got the replacement rear and front sight bead from tru-glo.

You should be able to tap it either direction. You definately want to support the barrel with some thing firm that will not damage the gun. Be sure to use a brass punch or maybe a wooden dowel if you don't want to scratch the barrel or the sight base. Good Luck!! 0 -
'some' of the newer reinigtons have a 1 pcs front sight/ramp, you have the change the whole thing. 0 -
Sight is two piece, and I have the replacement bead. Just haven't been able to tap it out. Didn't want to hit too hard. 0 -
Is this a iron sight on the front of the barrel ???
If it is it goes out L to R...
You really need a sight pusher but a brass rod will do it if your careful....0 -
Your correct, left to right. Knocked sight off even while supporting it. There was a second screw under the bead you cannot see until the bead is removed. It was not screwed in. Screwed the sight down than put on the new bead. Knocked off the sight once again while replacing the bead with the end sight attached. Now I know why the screw was loose. Who ever put the sight on had the same problem. However the second screw held firm and the new sight is attached. In this thick Missouri hard woods this model 7 in 260 will do just fine for whitetail. Thank you gentlemen for the help. 0
