Anybody know where to get a good quality but cheap, working replica 1884 trapdoor springfield ?

  H&R made a Trapdoor replica back in the 1970's. They offered a carbine (22" barrel), Officer's Model (26" barrel with tang/globe sights), and a full length rifle (32" barrel). The carbine and OM are the most frequently found for sale.
  
  Presently Pedersoli makes a replica of the TD.
  
  However, since you said cheap, a decent shooter grade original would likely be less expensive than these reproductions. You can find such TD's with good bores but mismatched/reblued parts for $500-$600.
