Finish blemish - Remington semi-fancy claro walnut
Hey all,
I just purchased a Remington 870 Wingmaster with semi-fancy claro walnut stock. It has two tiny spots on the forestock (I got some money off for this). These are hardly noticeable but being the perfectionist that I am and being a new gun and all, I want to see if I can get rid of them. They don't look like scratches really, more like someone just bumped the protective coating or something. I could send someone a digital photo (does this site allow for attachments?) if they think they may be able to help me know what to do. Thanks much!

Welcome Dan. I have finished a number of custom stocks and have restored Gerstner machinist's tool chests for years. The first thing I would do is contact Remington and see what type of finish coat is on it. Also, being walnut, it probably wasn't stained - but ask. Get back with us after you have the info. 0
