What gun to get

Okay..i am left handed so gun options are what i am having a hard time getting. I wanted a remington 700 stainless steel but they dont' make them anymore and can't find any.

here is my question
What gun is avaliable to me for being left handed in stainless steel that is under $1000 in a 30-06.

I just want a great shooting gun in a 30-06 that is stainless...

    Tikka T-3 Lite in SS. You will be impressed with the ergonomics, accuracy, and just about everything about the gun. They are actually priced better than Remington's too.

    My suggestion is that unless you have a disability that prevents it, buy a right handed gun in the style you want and learn to shoot right handed. And unless you are gonna take it into combat there is not much reason you can't shoot a right handed bolt gun left handed. Not trying to be a smartass but I shot right handed for 20 years and practiced lefthanded some for versitility. Then an injury required me to shoot left handed predominatly for the last 20 years.

    sorry to say but that is the worst thing possible to do. why would i through the trouble to shoot right handed when i am left eye dominant?? a rifle is not the only thing i shoot left handed...i would have to learn to shoot a shotgun, muzzleloader, and a bow right handed....

    Look at the Savage rifles, out of the box probably one of the best shooting guns on the market, and in your price range.

    You actually have quite a few choices.

    As mentioned by tsr1965, the Tikka is a fine choice, with a 1 MOA accuracy guaranty and offered in a lefthand 30-06.

    Ruger makes the M77 Hawkeye in stainless with a wood laminate stock in lefthand 30-06.

    Savage makes the Weather Warrior in stainless and synthetic in lefthand 30-06.

    Browning makes the A-bolt in the Stainless Stalker in lefthand 30-06.

    There may be some that we have not mentioned.

While I would not try to dissuade you that the 30-06 is a fine cartridge, in nearly all instances, the 7mm Remington Magnum will do as much or more. It will launch a 175 grain bullet at probably 200 fps faster than the 30-06 will launch a 180.

    It looks like there are many XCRs available in 7mm Remington Mag.

    Stevecrea is absolutely right, bullets for the 7MM Mag has amazing BCs and an excellent caliber all around. The trade off on the MV comparison is that the .30-06 barrel will last longer than 7MM Mag.

    Hmmm, how many guys do you know who have shot out 7mm barrels hunting deer and elk?

    600 yard p dogs maybe.
