30-30 value

hey there i have a friend that has a mod 94 30-30 serial # 158022 date of manufactor approx. 1899 would like to know the value of this rifle i would sayit is at least 98%. thanks steffin

    An 1894 Winchester that old would be a rare find in 98% condition. Post some photos so we can look at it.

    Hello steffin,

    Winchester Model 1894 serial number 158022 was manufactured in the latter half of the year 1902, and was most likely received in the warehouse in October of 1902.

    The value will be determined by the true graded condition, and as cartod mentioned, it is very rare to find a 100+ year old Modle 1894 in 98% condition. If it has been refinished, it is actually a 0% gun.

    thank you i dont have pics of this rifle right now but might be able to get some it has not been refurbished oringinal condition and 98% is probably high but the rifle is beautiful with normal aging of the wood and metal you can tell it was well taken care of

    If possible, please post pictures here on the forum. In the meantime, please give us a detailed description of the gun to include the following information;

    1. Barrel length?
    2. Barrel contour (e.g. octagon, round, or 1/2 octagon 1/2 round)?
    3. Magazine tube length (e.g. full, 1/2, 2/3, etc.)?
    4. Butt stock configuration (straight grip or pistol grip)?
    5. Plain walnut stocks or deluxe grain, and are they checkered?
    6. Butt plate type?
    7. Standard open sights or special order?
    8. Solid frame or Take Down?
