Wheel sight Browning 22 C&R elig?

Wondered if these gums were eligable for C&R purchase, wheel sight models.

    I just looked in my C&r book but can't find any reference by that name. Is there a model # to go along with them or a approx date of mfg?

    My book was revised Dec 07 so there might be a few new guns added to it by now.

    No model number was used for these rifles. They are called the ".22 Browning Automatic Rifle".

    Manufacture in Belgium began in 1956, so only those made in the first few years would be C&R eligible, based on the 50 year rule. And, you will probably not be able to document when these were made.

    That's why I was hoping the wheel sight models could be identified by year. I know they were the earliest but I don't know when they stopped.

    I dont know about C&R rules that well. But 50 years would be 1959. So production started in 1956..... 1959 production # ran 44501 - 68500. I guessing + or - a few. So with that said ser # under 68500 would be C&R OK? Eddie

    How do you know about the serial number range for the years? You da MAN! Now all I need is the serial #

    According to the ATF Curio & Relic List the only Browning .22 rifle that is C&R by MODEL is:
    quote:Browning .22 caliber, semiautomatic rifles, Grade II, mfd. by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium from
    1956 to 1976.
    As was posted earlier, any that were manufactured at least fifty years ago today would also be C&R eligible.

    All I need is documentation that all the wheel sight models were manufactured prior to 1959.

    Serial starts out T60 so it appears I'm out of luck on the C&R. Thanks for all the help everyone.

    Iamsandan, You may be OK.First all the facts help alot (like pic) & ser #s. Put XX in the last place(s) if you want to. Ok that said lets start over Browning "T" = LR "A" = Short. 1956- 1975. Iam sure some got mixed up- wanting to go to break, talking to you buddy on the line etc. You said yours starts out T60, (22LR) T60, T60X, T60XX all 1956 guns. Total production 12000 in 1956. 1959 production ran 44501-68500. So T60XXX (999 more possible guns) could be a 1959. Now lets go a little further- 1961 ser range 90501-96300(not yours) and the switch 1T XXXXX (1961) 1962 2T XXXX see where iam going?...1970= 70T XXXX .To made a LONG story short if yours is T60whatever its either a 1956 (you lucky dog) or a 1959 gun.
