Bullseye loads for .45 Cal
Anyone with experience using 155 gr lswc at the 25 yard line for .45?
Would appreciate any input as we are experimenting presently.

You sure about that weight? When I was using BE to load .45 lead SWC's the normal bullet weight was between 180 & 200 grains. My standard load was a 200 grain H & G #68 type bullet, with 3.8 grains of BE. 0 -
Hello You will really need to fine tune this light weight bullet to give you good groups and still function the pistol . I have been shooting bulls-eye for 35+ years and have loaded and shot over 300,000 rounds of 45 ACP . First off if you don't have the use of a ransom rest your job will be much harder . You also did not state if you have a red dot and if you do if it is FRAME or SLIDE mounted . also your physical size and how hard you grip the pistol will determine your load . You will need a recoil spring light enough to allow the pistol to function with the load in combination to the weight of the slide and how heavy you are and how hard you hold the pistol Long story short too light of a load and the pistol will not function too heavy of a load and the bullet may STRIP in the rifling because this light of a bullet has a VERY short Driving band . If you already have the bullets fine you will have to experiement.I would start with 4.5 grains of Bulls-Eye powder. If you do not presently have these bullets I would stick with a 200 Grain Bevel Base Lead bullet . recoil is a state of mind and you will find the gun will function better and the group size will be better because it will be easier to work up a load.
