To refinish or not to refinish

I have a 1938 Mosin Nagant that I'm conscidering selling. The gun is a Finn captured Russian model. The barrel has lost a lot of the original blueing and the stock is dry. I'm afraid if I don't refinish it, it may start to deteriate even worse.

I'm torn between refinishing or selling as is. What would most folks here recommend? Refinish or (preserve it) or leave it as is?

    I have a 1952 Tula SKS with a laminated stock, The Finish is good but has a few scratches in it(nothing deep, no chips or cracks).

    Would refinishing the stock make it loose value?
    If not, Any suggestions on a good product I could use? Or is there a good site/book on how to.
    This would be my first attempt at refinishing a stock and I would like to get as much info as possible (get it right the first time is my matto).

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    If you're not going to keep it, sell it as is. The extra money you put into a refinishing job may not be what the next owner would want.

    Just sell it! Let the buyer decide what he want's. Probably he won't want the extra cost no matter who incurs it.

    Agree with Spider and those who say "sell as is" if you're going to sell.

    Sell as is.
    Only if you like the gun and want to keep it is it worth refinishing.
