My friend has a Mod. 70 in .270. It is a Bohler special made in 1955. I know Bohler is a steel manufacturer. Is the Bohler barrel the only thing that makes this gun "special"? It is in excellent condition. I have no pics but looking for a good ball park figure on what it might be worth. I am thinking about $1100.00 but can find no info on this particular rifle.

According to The Rifleman's Rifle by Roger C. Rule, #786365 was made in 1965. There were 61,320 model 70's produced that year. He ranks the scarcity of the model 70's by caliber and style. The .300 Win Mag is in the second most common group. This is the group of magnum calibers. The most common group is the standard calibers in the standard model 70 configuration. This is out of 11 groups. Hope this info is what you wanted.

The scope is a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn 4-12 power with the yardage adjustment on front of scope.
I was wondering the worth of it as well.
