Loose ak-47 flash hider? Peel washer?
Are AK's supposed to have a peel washer behind the flash hider? My Romanian WASR-10 seems to have a bit of play in the flash hider. I notice it has a spring loaded retaining pin that fits in a notch keeping it from freely rotating, but turned at the last interval it can go and be in locked position there is about another 1/2 turn it needs before its tight.

They do not use a washer and most have a certain amount of play 0 -
That is normal for a AK. You can turn the flash hider beyond the notch. 0 -
Normal. I've heard of some people using a little pipe threading tape to take the play out. I wouldn't. 0 -
I ended up putting a very small buna nitrile dura-90 o-ring over the threading and screwing the flash hider all the way back. It snugged up tight. I was worried about it maybe melting, but I did a three 30rd magazine dump "it was fun stress relief" and guess what, the barrel was hot, but the oring didn't melt or swell or anything. So cheap easy solution. 0
