Ak Red Dot
So here I am again looking for expert advice. I'm looking for a rugged and dependable red dot for my ak47. i have no experience with russian red dot although i would like to stick with russian made sight as much as possible. I was hoping i can find one that i don't have to take off when dong maintenance cleaning. Please right down pros and cons. Thank you very much. [:)][:D][8D]

The Russian made Kobra is probably the best bet...At least it is my own favorite

Yes the kobra is one of the best russian made red dots... back in the earlier 2000s there was many more russian made red dot options available then there is today, I am not sure if the kobra can even still be found in new condition....
most of them where good quality at bargian prices.
Today the red dots I see most often is the PK-A, and the ocassional used PK-AS
Here is what the biggest importer of russian made optics has.

Recently several companies have made a "flattop" option for aks, it attaches to the stock or reciever and rear sight base, and it has a long picatinny rail that runs above the dustcover, it has an intigral a1 or A2 AR like sight at the rear.. They will run you 150-275 just for the optics base.

Krebs custom(scroll down until you find the Ak rear sight reciever rail)

With either of these you can you mount any of the dozens of high quality American or jap made red dot sights on the rail.0 -
Note, to use a Kobra red dot you need a receiver scope mount seen in Mark's photo.
Alot of AK's today don't have that mount.0
