IM SEARCHING FOR A 788 22-250 BOLT. THERE IS A 222 BOLT ON ACTION NOW CAN IT BE FIT TO 22-250?

    I HAVE BEEN WATCHING E-GUNS AND NOBODY MAKE THEM ANY MORE. I KNOW IT MAY TAKE A LONG TIME TO FIND ONE. IM JUST LOOKING INTO OTHER OPTIONS.

    Hello the bolt needs to have the same diameter Case Head Thus 243 /308 6MM rem. 7MM-08 will all work.

    I gotta ask...what happened to the original bolt??? Been my experience when a custome comes into the shop with a rifle and no bolt, 8 times out of ten, the gun is hot!

    BOUGHT IT ON GUNBROKER AS A PROJECT. BOLT AND CLIP WERE LOST BY LAST OWNER WHEN THE GUN WAS TAKEN APART. GUN IS CLEAN.

    "CAN A 222 BOLT BE MODIFIED FOR 22-250? CAN THE BOLT FACE BE OPENED UP".......yes BUT = $$$. the bolt is the most fragile part of the 788 and they are scarce as hens teeth. cheaper to buy a beater rifle for the bolt (but that's what got you into this mess to start with[;)])
