SLUGS THROUGH CHOKE TUBES

CAN YOU SHOOT A SLUG WITH OUT DAMAGEING THE BARREL THROUGH A CHOKE TUBE I HAVE A REMINGTON 11-87 AND 870 BOTH HAVE CHOKE TUBES IM SURE YOU WOULDNT USE A FULL ANY HELP WITH THIS WOULD BE GREAT

  Sure can. Try different tubes to see which shoots the best.

  needed to find this information for my sons remington 20 guage light weight went to remingtons web and found they recommend-- improved cylinder ---for their slugger ammo which we will be using .check their web under customer help question 16 alot more info on other items also -- Hope it helps Dave

  Improved cylinder for best results but you can go as tight as full.

  Had a buddy of mine that used to use an 870 20ga, only had the regular barrel with the mod. choke and shot slugs through it. Regular Remington rifled slugs stretched the choke tube out the end of the barrel by 1/8". We joked he had an extended choke tube for his shotgun.

  Why not get a rifled choke tube? They are available from Remington for a 12GA and probably some aftermarket companys for other gauges.
