Browning Bar - unknown species
Hi, I have a mystery which I cant solve. Anyone ever hear of a Browning Bar rifle made in Belgium with custom exhibition grade wood stocks? Not engraved, has black matte receiver, but custom wood. I have never seen one like it before and have not turned up anything in web research, and wonder if there was a special limited production run by Browning. Even the serial number doesnt match in with any of the browning coding. I do have a photo but cant upload it I guess through this forum. Any info would be appreciated.

after market stock probaly.
what is the serial number, since it doesnt match up?0 -
hi, its 37022M75 seems to be a reversal in order, ie serial number first as opposed to after, M = Bar, year = 1975. If the Browning coding applied from whats published it should have instead been 75M37022 0 -
Looks to me like it's been restocked. The recoil pad IS NOT original to the rifle. Serial number is a mystery. 0 -
Yours is not the first Browning with misinformation as to the letters /numbers of the serial I suspect the Bar 1975 is correct . I also believe the metal was refinished at the same time the fancy wood was installed. Nice rifle but IMHO not a SPECIAL factory run. 0
