CA Safe Pistol?

CA has what they call the safe pistol list. Are single shot pistols like the Savage Striker exempt? How would one find out? I have read the CA safe pistol info on the CA DOJ site and can't figure it out.

    If it's not on the CA DOJ approved list, it can't be sold in CA. Find a good dealer to help you sort it out.

    LEOs are exempt from the list if buying for work...

    The calif safe handgun list applies to double action revolvers and semi-autos. Single actions and single shots are not covered. And yes, purchases by law enforcement ofcrs are exempt.

    Lefty...the CA DOJ website says some single action revolvers exempt and says nothing about single shot handguns. That is why I am not sure.

    Single shot handguns were exempted as of 2006 - one of the few times our Governor signed anything progun. As with SA revolvers, they have to meet a minimum length requirement, but basically any SA revolver or single shot with a 4" or so barrel meets the OAL needed.

    In addition to the LE and family transfers, C & R handguns are exempt. So you can transfer in a 1958 made Python, but you can't transfer in a 1960 made Python. Makes perfect sense, right? [:(!]
