Mdl 70 243 WSSM Stock Replacement?
I just had a buddy call me up with this rifle for sale. The only problem I have with it is it is a synthetic stock. My question is would the short action replacements work or would I need something different? Any help would be appreciated.

The WSSM action length in the Winchester model 70's, and the Browning A-Bolts are shorter than say the regular 308 length short action. The regular short action stock will not fit them. I am not sure, but check with Boydd's to see if they make one for them.

I checked all I see is the short action mdls.

Try this site. I have linked directly to a thread on stocks for the WSSMs. Also, if you search the site you will find more info on this topic.

B_Mc,
The 'super short' actions have a 6-1/2" action screw spacing and are not compatible with the standard short action stocks.
I didn't see any at a quick glance but these folks have a ton of factory replacement items including stocks for sale:

Richard's Microfit is another laminated and solid wood stock manufacturer. Just be aware that their quality can be spotty according to some folks reports.
