Winchester Model 88
I have a winchester model 88 serial number 8888, in a .308. It has two mags and is in great shape. It was mfg in 1955. Any I idea what it's worth?

Pre '64 Winchester 88, SN 16558 1st year production 1955.
The M88 pre '64 in .308 was by far the most produced caliber of all 88s, about 74,000 produced from 1955-1963. Of the 74,000 or so, over 35,000 were produced in 1955 for it's release.
Condition is everything. Ballpark $500-$700 depending on originality, and how bad someone wants it.

Is it checkered wood? If not it could be a carbine. Much more $$.....cant remember if they made the carbine pre 64???? 0 -
Nope,didn't make the Carbine until 1968... 0 -
i thought pre 64 only applied to the winchester model 70 as far as values went??? 0
