Redfield receiver sight

I have a Redfield micrometer peep sight as follows: Only marking is a small "M" stamped in base, mounting holes exactly .625 or 5/8th inch apart, mounting surface cut on a .8125 or 13/16ths radius. Can anyone tell me if this sight was for a specific model rifle or rather a "general purpose" to fit any receiver of that size. Thanks

  For some reason Redfield didn't mark their sights, like other manufacturers did? Best to post some quality photos of the sight if none of our members can identify it from your description.

  All the Redfield sights, No. 70, 80, 90, and 100, similar to your description and marked with a "M" were intended for the Mauser action.

  If it mounts on the R/S more than likely it's for a mauser
