If you could possibly talk Dave into taking photos of the guns, we would really appreciate it.

DROOL, snort, pant, wow. If that Bat Masterson Colt realy is letterd, ol' Dave can probably retire, or at the very least, upgrade his brand of wiskey.

    Update:

The Blue Book of gun values says the Dragoon would be valued at 22K. I had David bring it back down so I could get a better look, and I now think it is a knock off. The metal is too nice, and the edges are all too sharp (No wear). The top stamp seems to be in the wrong place.[:(]

The Peace Maker appears to be the real deal according to the Colt letter.[:I]

I'll ask him about taking the pictures.

An original S&W Schofield would be in .45 S&W caliber, not .45 Colt.
A lot of them were cut off for surplus sales.

    Hawk,

You are correct, the Scolfield is in the shorter 45 S&W. The barrel looks cut down, and appears professionally done.

    Wow.

I can't even imagine what a lettered Bat Masterson Colt might be worth at auction if it checks out. That could literally go into the six figure range (or more).

    Interestingly, see here:

Get the S&W lettered. Always an outside chance it was done by the factory.
