Buying off a friend

Im looking at buying a colt new frontier .22 off a friend with just the .22lr cylnder. I am wanting some info on what to look for when checking this gun out, and what a fair price would be. Im looking at offering him $300.

  If the gun is in very good condition, check the lock-up when cocked-no cylinder movement, lines up with barrel. Nice solid 4 clicks when cocked, grips and blueing in good shape.
  If it checks out and you are going to keep it, $300 is fair price.
  If there is the box and paper work it adds to the price.

  It's even a better price if it has the 4 5/8" barrel.

  Spider I don't want to hi-jack his thread but why is the 4 5/8 colt different.I may have 1 that my dad got in the late 50ies or early 60ies.Email me if you can.

  300 is a fair price, good deal ,[:)]if very good or better condition..imo..getting harder to find,nambu
